Release Notes: Xcitium Enterprise & Essential Platforms and Agents Update – September 17/18, 2025

Hello Xcitium Community,

We’re rolling out an important release today and tomorrow for both Xcitium Enterprise & Essential Platforms, along with agents including the Xcitium Communication Client for Windows (XCC Windows), Xcitium Remote Control – Windows (XRC Windows), Xcitium Remote Control – macOS (XRC macOS), and Android MDM Agent.

This update introduces new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for the Enterprise and Essential Platforms, improving platform functionality and user experience. It also includes updates to the XCC Windows, XRC Windows, XRC macOS, and Android MDM Agent, enhancing communication, remote control capabilities, and mobile device management.

The deployment is expected to take approximately 6 hours per day. While no service interruptions are expected, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you experience any issues afterward.

Enterprise & Essential Platforms

New Features

  • Added integration with Windows Defender to the Managed Detection and Response service, allowing seamless monitoring and threat management for customers using Windows Defender, expanding security visibility without requiring Xcitium endpoint solutions.

  • Added Nucal integration to the Essential Platform Marketplace, accessible through a new service option, allowing users to automate tasks with single sign-on. Available in Basic, Standard, and Premium tiers to support varying automation needs, enhancing workflow efficiency and user experience.

  • Added Managed AI integration to the Essential platform, accessible through a new AI menu option, allowing users to securely access AI features with single sign-on for a seamless and efficient experience.

Improvements

  • Introduced Azure AD integration for Enterprise customers in the Essential Platform, simplifying user authentication and management by enabling seamless login and user data retrieval through Azure AD.

  • Enhanced endpoint security by introducing the ability to block vulnerable kernel drivers in the Enterprise Platform, leveraging Microsoft’s blocklist to prevent exploits and improve protection against zero-day attacks. This feature is enabled by default and configurable in platform profiles.

  • Introduced support for Windows Server 2025, allowing seamless installation and management of Xcitium Client Security agents to enhance endpoint protection and management for the latest Windows Server environments.

  • Introduced support for Windows Server 2025, enabling seamless installation and management of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) agents to enhance security and monitoring for the latest Windows Server environments.

  • Enhanced ransomware protection by adding the ability to manage network shares protection settings directly from the Xcitium Web Portal. Administrators can now enable or disable protection, configure exclusions, and apply settings across endpoints, improving defense against remote ransomware attacks.

  • Improved device enrollment by introducing a Free Profile option for agent-only installations, ensuring clear and flexible setup without unintended paid service activation, enhancing user control and transparency.

  • Enhanced billing management by integrating user account IDs with the billing system, providing a unified view of invoices across regions for improved clarity and ease of access.

  • Improved user management by allowing staff with user management permissions to reset two-factor authentication (2FA) in Endpoint Manager, streamlining account recovery and reducing dependency on administrators.

Bug-Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where the Obsolete Files list was not displaying correctly in the XCS settings, ensuring accurate visibility of files marked as obsolete for improved file management.

  • Resolved an issue where script details were not displaying correctly in the Detected Scripts section, improving visibility and management of script information.

  • Resolved an issue preventing the process timeline from loading correctly when accessed from alerts, improving reliability and usability of event tracking.

  • Resolved an issue where the Service Desk v2 module was not functioning correctly after activation in the Essential Platform portal, improving access and usability of service desk features.

  • Resolved an issue preventing newly created customers from appearing in the Security Alerts and Events sections, ensuring all customer data is now fully visible and accessible.

Resolved issues with EDR policy management, ensuring proper policy assignment for postpaid accounts and removing confusing messaging for managed policy users, improving clarity and functionality.

Communication Client Agent for Windows

New Features

  • Enhanced the Communication Client Agent with support for Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) translations, ensuring accurate language display and offering the option to manually select English or Chinese (Taiwan) for improved usability and regional compatibility.
