Release Notes: Xcitium Enterprise & Platform and Agents Major Update - March 19-20, 2025

Hello Xcitium Community,

We’re excited to announce a major update for Xcitium Enterprise & Platform, bringing key enhancements and updates to related agents! :sparkles: This release will be deployed over two days, with each rollout lasting approximately 4 hours. While no downtime is expected, please reach out if you experience any issues after the update.

This release introduces critical bug fixes, performance optimizations, and new enhancements across Xcitium Enterprise & Platform, Device Management, and agent functionality.


Xcitium Enterprise & Platform and Agents March Release (March 19-20, 2024)

Xcitium Enterprise & Platform

New Features

  • Added the ability to view aggregated profile settings for Windows endpoints, providing a consolidated summary of all applied configurations for better visibility and management. These settings can be found under Associated Profiles in the device details section.

Improvements

  • Enhanced recognition and policy assignment for newly issued Managed licenses.
  • Improved email address validation on the OpenEDR signup page.
  • Replaced the “Latest” label with “Preview” for CC, XCS, and EDR agents in Portal Setup and Client Settings, providing better clarity on pre-validated versions. A popup message has also been added to inform users about the implications of using Preview versions.
  • Added compatibility management for the Android agent, ensuring users with older Android OS versions can continue using a supported version while newer devices receive the latest updates.

Bug-Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where the EDR update process failed when selecting a version lower than the currently installed version.
  • Fixed a problem where platform postpaid bills were not generated for many customers, ensuring accurate billing.
  • Resolved an issue where the Hardware Inventory Report failed to generate successfully.
  • Fixed an issue on the Hash View page where the alert action options appeared over the table instead of displaying correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where incorrect security questions were displayed on the Xcitium Enterprise platform, differing from those on the Xcitium Platform.

Xcitium CNAPP

Improvements

  • Renamed Cloud Workloads to Clusters in Xcitium Cloud Security (CNAPP) for improved clarity.
  • Updated the Compliance sub-menu in Xcitium Cloud Security (CNAPP) by adding Detailed View and Summary sections for better navigation and reporting.
  • Added a detailed and list view for Kubernetes Clusters, providing insights into nodes, namespaces, workloads, and findings for easier security management.
  • Users can now view compliance findings for cloud and Kubernetes clusters on the same page under Compliance → Summary, simplifying regulatory tracking.
  • The Assets page now offers improved grouping and categorization, making it easier to manage cloud, code, container, and Kubernetes cluster assets.
  • Users can now upload, manage, and track certificates for registry onboarding, integrations, and expiration monitoring from a centralized location.
  • Added STIG Benchmark Compliance support for Ubuntu and RHEL virtual machines, allowing users to scan their VMs against security standards and improve compliance.
  • Introduced new security widgets for Static (SAST), Dynamic (DAST), and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) scanning, giving users a clear overview of vulnerabilities across code, APIs, and configurations.
  • Integrated Opengrep/Semgrep into SAST scanning, enabling AI-powered recommendations and detailed categorization of vulnerabilities within Xcitium CNAPP for easier remediation.
  • The Findings page now includes a summary view, offering a centralized snapshot of vulnerabilities across the security lifecycle for faster assessment and remediation.
  • Improved findings visibility with grouping options, custom insights, enhanced dashboards, and deeper reporting, including sensitive asset scanning in S3 buckets and code repositories.
  • Added direct links to plugins and marketplace actions, making it easier to integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines for automated protection.

Xcitium Communication Client – Windows

Bug-Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where ITSM Service 9.4.49 crashed regularly, improving stability and reliability.

Xcitium Client Security – macOS

Bug-Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where XCSM Parental Control was not functioning properly.

Let me respond to each item in order:

  • New versions have been released for the Xcitium Remote Control agent as part of compatibility improvements.
  • For the XCS macOS agent, the item mentioned here has been addressed, along with backend enhancements.
  • The ability to view aggregated profile settings for Windows endpoints allows users to see the full details of all profiles assigned to a device on a single page. We plan to improve the appearance of this section in future releases.
