Over the last few months we’ve been experiencing increasing instability with the built-in remote control tool. We’re seeing this across multiple device types and environments: desktops, laptops, and servers.
What we’re observing (recurring issues):
- Connection frequently fails (remote session won’t start or times out), and we end up using alternative tools like AnyDesk to continue support.
- Sessions sometimes connect and then disconnect unexpectedly shortly after.
- Devices occasionally show as Offline even though they are clearly Online (reachable, active user, network OK), which prevents us from starting a remote session.
Impact:
This is affecting our ability to provide reliable support because we can’t trust session availability, and it forces us to switch tools mid-incident.
