XCS Firewall slowing down only some wifi connections

I have about 4 clients that when xcs is deployed the computers wifi gets really slow and traffic is very slow on high speed fiber connections. It’s not a wifi issue because it works ok when XCS is disabled.

hi @steve

apologies for the inconvenience,
could you try disabling the firewall component and check the wifi connection if it is working properly ,

If the reported issue persists after performing the above changes, to further investigate the reported issue, we need the local logs from one of the affected endpoints. once you have collected logs please drop us an email to support@xcitium.com with log details with all the screenshots of slow wifi connectivity issue.

  • If you wish us to collect the endpoint logs from our side, please let us know the name of the affected device and make sure Remote Access Support is enabled under Management > Account > Remote Access Support ( Xcitium Remote Access Support, Xcitium, Xcitium ). You may also find the necessary steps listed in the attached document. After this option is enabled, provide us with the name of the affected device on Endpoint Manager portal.
  • If you do not wish to provide us with remote access, and if the device communicates with the Xcitium Platform, run the the predefined procedure “Collect Comodo One logs using new CIS report tool” on the affected device - do not forget to provide us with the name of the device so we can identify the output on our side. However, if the device does not communicate with the Xcitium Platform, please download and run the following report tool on the affected device: https://download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/cisreporttool/cisreporttool.exe . The tool collects both XCC & XCS logs and attempts to upload them to our SFTP (Device name is included in the name of the output). To be able to to identify the logs on our side, please provide us with the local name of the device.

Hi @steve

Which version of XCS are you using and are you using the default firewall settings?

I am using the current XCS release on all affected. I didn’t build the profiles however it’s prob using default firewall rules, I took over managing a few months ago and still kinda learning the platform. I have tested by disabling FW and doesn’t actually fix until I send the uninstall XCS package. I will have to get a client to let me test and pull logs so it’s freshly logged.

hi @steve

please do install the stable version of the XCS to the affected devices and check the status , if the issue is still persistent , request you to collect logs as mentioned above and drop us an email to our support id to investigate further.

thank you

@steve Is it XCS 13.2 you are running and what is the difference in speed with and without the XCS firewall enabled?

HUGH difference in speed and latency, from a crawl when opening pages and even remote connection is slowwwww. most pages timeout trying to load.
Xcitium Client - Security v. 13.0.0.9449

You should try XCS 13.2, we have not encountered any issues with this version.
